Flashback Friday: Dru Hill and State Property

This week …. man, let me tell you.

If ever I was in need of some musical therapy, this is the time. I’m sure I’m not alone.

Let’s turn the clock back to 2002, shall we?

Dru Hill, Dru World Order (2002)

Seems like the music world has a renewed obsession with Dru Hill lately, thanks to their latest episode of Unsung. I ain’t mad – anytime I get to talk about those Baltimore boys I’m happy. Let’s be real – their third release is nowhere near the league of their first two albums but there are shining moments for sure. Let those bright spots tide you over until we get that elusive comeback album.

State Property (2002)

Speaking of 2002, the Roc-a-Fella unit was arguably at their peak as a crew in 2002, thanks to this compilation that’s equal parts movie soundtrack and coming-out party for a host of new artists. Sadly, most of them faded out quickly – it’s a shame because the talent was there.
