Flashback Friday: Clipse and Trey Songz

Let’s turn back the clock to 2009 this fine Friday and see what hit we come up with.

Clipse, Til the Casket Drops (2009)

By the time you read this, we’ll have our hands on Pusha T’s latest album DAYTONA – don’t worry, stay tuned for a review on that one. In the meantime, check out Clipse’s final album. Sure, it wasn’t nearly as good as their incredible debut and sophomore releases but it’s still a strong farewell to one of rap’s best duos.

UPDATE: Check out our review of DAYTONA here!

Also check out:

“Kinda Like a Big Deal,” featuring Kanye West

“Popular Demand (Popeyes),” featuring Cam’ron and Pharrell

Trey Songz, Ready (2009)

Is Ready a classic? That was the topic of discussion a few days ago on Twitter. While the classic topic is a bit of a stretch, I will agree that it’s Trey’s best work by far and still stands as one of the better R&B releases of the past decade. Not a bad legacy, classic or not.

Also check out:

“I Invented Sex,” featuring Drake

“Neighbors Know My Name”
