Guilty Pleasures: Goldlink, Crew

at what cost

We all have guilty pleasures, those songs that have no business on our iPods or the tracks we only blast with the windows rolled all the way up in our rides. In this column we share our darkest musical secrets.

Can one of the best songs of 2017 be considered a guilty pleasure?

Iman Martin thinks so and he drops off Goldlink’s “Crew,” one of the most ever-present earworms of the year. And I’m with him on this one – it’s certainly no lyrical masterpiece (I STILL don’t know what Shy Glizzy is talkin’ bout) but Brent Faiyaz’s hook and the smooth production is enough to win us over.
