Conceptually, Kendrick’s new single “I” drops at the perfect time.

The uplifting, funky romp is all about empowerment. And with headlines filled with celebrity beatings, nude leaks and child abuse, we all could use some self-love.

As always, Kendrick blesses us with mind-bending rhymes that fly out like they’ve been released from a semi-auto. Some of y’all might roll your eyes at the song’s hopeful message but please don’t kill my vibe. Hip-hop needs this record right now.
