Flashback Friday: Da Lench Mob and Dru Hill

Who is ready to finally put a fork in this long week?

We’ve got you. Here’s the perfect music to get you through these final work hours.

Da Lench Mob, Guerillas In Da Mist (1992)

It’s a shame that Da Lench Mob’s legacy has been clouded by arrests and money squabbles. Not only are they one of the best groups to emerge from the West Coast, they were one of the most influential. Their hard core lyrics struck out against poverty and prejudice, so much so that they were banned from TV. Da Lench Mob was always willing to shine light on America’s ugly truths. Their debut is a forgotten classic.

Dru Hill, Dru World Order (2002)

After two strong albums in the ’90s and lead singer Sisqo’s thong obsession, the mighty Dru tried to recapture their magic in 2002.  Ehh, that didn’t quite happen. But Dru World Order wasn’t a total disaster. It yielded a couple of decent singles and album cuts.
