Giant Jesus statue destroyed by fire

The King of Kings statue that stood outside the Solid Rock Church of Monroe, Ohio burned to the ground last night.

Officials are still investigating the fire, but lightning most likely sparked the blaze.

The giant statue of Jesus has been seen by millions since it was built in 2004. The 42-foot span between its outstretched arms grabbed the attention of motorists driving by on Interstate 75.

Now the statue is in ruins with only a few wire frames still standing.
