Vintage Dating Tips

Hello, Mae babes!

I ran across this yesterday and it was just too good not to share.

Check this out:

(Side note: I’m sitting awkwardly right now and chewing gum like a sailor.)

This is from a Dating Guide for Single Women from 1938. Here’s another favorite:

To sum it all up, the keys to successful dating are don’t talk to much (especially while dancing), don’t forget your bra, don’t cry, and don’t get drunk. You should also never adjust your clothes or reapply your makeup in front of your man. And don’t you dare think about getting all “familiar” and touching his ear in public.

  1. I wouldn’t want a woman to get ‘familiar’ with me either – it looks like she’s sticking her gum in his ear.

  2. LOL@Edd.
I though Javacia got familiar with you when she first met you.

  3. It’s real that you must not caress your date on the public. It will only humiliate him or usually embarrassed with the people around you.

  4. Do you believe in love at first sight. The best and most beautiful things in the world can’t be seen, nor touched, but are felt in the heart.
