Edd’s MANtra: Mo’ Money, Mo’ Problems

I never understood why people dreaded tax season until this year.

Every year I’ve been blessed to receive hefty refunds from Uncle Sam. I used to file my taxes extremely early just to reap the benefits.
Oh, but that all changed this year. Thanks to six months of freelance work – and six months of paychecks that didn’t have taxes taken of them – last weekend Uncle Sam rolled up on me in his Cadillac, adjusted his red, white and blue hat, pimp-slapped me and basically said “Where my money?”

Ugh.

But I’m not the only one who knows Uncle Sam keeps his pimp hand strong. Check out some of your favorite artists, who also owe a pretty penny.

I hope Eve saved up those UPN checks. She owes $357,000 in state and federal taxes.

The IRS hit Snoop Dogg for $600,000 in unpaid back taxes. I hope he itemizes his weed and alcohol expenses.

Poor, poor Nas. My boy owes more than $3 million in back taxes. $3 million! And let’s not forget estranged wife Kelis – who got his child support payments raised to $51,101 from the original $44,000 – says that Esco still owes her about $200,000.

Suddenly, I don’t feel so bad about my tax bills.

So what’s the problem here? Are rappers simply not paying their debts? Or are their finances screwed up thanks to their shady hood tax preparer? Somebody burn them a copy of TurboTax with the quickness.

  1. I lived with the probability of being levied at any moment for 6 months. I never knew I could have handled my tax levy alone until I read this.http://www.tax-defense-network-diy.com/how-to-stop-a-levy-yourself/ There are things you can do to get your tax levy removed, but ensure you have consulted a levy professional prior to trying these steps.
