Glitterati and Gumbo

The Georgia Mae news report will be suspended for the next three weeks because I will be caught up in a whirlwind of glitterati and gumbo.

Say what?

Let me explain. Louisville is bracing for the Kentucky Derby, the one time of the year when our little city is transformed into a miniature Hollywood and celebrities from all over the country and rich folks from all over the world come to our town to drink, watch horses run around in a circle, and drink some more. Is it annoying to us folks who live here 365 days a year? Of course! But I’m a journalist so I have to play along and help chronicle it all. (But I will not be wearing a big hat. Sorry.)

Then after Derby is done I’ll be heading to New Orleans for a much needed vacation with a couple of gal pals.

I was planning to continue the news posts through this week, but chaos has already ensued.

To the right you will see a news feed that will help you keep up-to-date with certain topics and, of course, if something happens in the news that I think we should be discussing I’ll write a post about it.

Furthermore, you can be sure that there will still be plenty other posts during these next three weeks and I’ll keep you all updated on my Derby drama and my adventures in the Big Easy.

So keep checking the blog daily for fresh posts and keep spreading the word.

xoxo,
javacia

  1. Whaddaya mean?! Derby is the best time of the year!!! LOL..enjoy it and your vacation to N.O. (I’m jealous, I want to go there so badly!)! =D

  2. Jai, don’t you wonder what it would be like to take part in Derby like a normal person? I do, every year. I’m hopelessly buried, too.

At least you have your trip to look forward to. So happy for you. 🙂
