Flashback Friday: Remembering Craig Mack

project funk da world

Earlier this week, the rap world was stunned by the loss of Craig Mack, one of the unsung voices of 90s rap.

While the Notorious B.I.G. is rightfully recognized as the flagship artist of Sean Combs’ heralded Baby Boy Records, it was Craig Mack who laid the foundation for the label’s unprecedented run. But Frank White cast a B.I.G. shadow, so Craig Mack quickly faded into obscurity.

It’s a shame. Craig made great music.

This Friday, look back on the best Craig Mack songs NOT named “Flava In Ya Ear Remix.” Craig deserved more love for helping to kickstart rap’s mainstream dominance. RIP.
