If I was a betting man back in 1990, I would have put all my coins on Ralph becoming the breakout star of New Edition and dominating R&B for years to come. Eh … that didn’t quite happen, though that’s not a reflection on his talent, nor his very successful debut album. It boasted more than a few New Jack Swing gems.

Remember when the Drama King dropped compilations on the regular? Kay Slay had a knack for cramming odd parings of artists in the studio together in hopes of making magic. On this set some of those weird parings paid off, producing several overlooked bangers.
