Flashback Friday: The Great Gatsby Soundtrack and 112

Yay, Friday! Here’s some good music to celebrate.

It’s been a long time since the wifey joined us for Flashback Friday but she eagerly dropped off her favorite soundtrack today. She said: “It’s a mix of every genre of music that I like in one album– there’s pop songs for when you want to be upbeat, haunting alternative songs that stick with you, there’s rap and R&B. No matter what you’re in the mood for, there’s something for you.”

“100$ Bill,” Jay Z

“Together,” The xx

Apparently the homie Nick Birdsong was in the mood for some 90s R&B, and I was happy to accommodate. 112’s “Come See Me” is one of his favorites, and the guest verse from Mr. Cheeks is the perfect addition. 112’s debut album was a near-flawless affair, and they’d go on to drop two equally fantastic albums in the following years. They were unstoppable.

“Cupid”
