Guilty Pleasures: French Montana, Shot Caller

shot caller

We all have guilty pleasures, those songs that have no business on our iPods or the tracks we only blast with the windows rolled all the way up in our rides. In this column we share our darkest musical secrets.

Yes, I know French Montana is a loathsome human being. I mean, just listen to his first single, “Shot Caller” — instead of coming up with his own lyrics, he just  paid homage outright stole verses from more talented rappers.

That doesn’t mean this isn’t a hot song though. Credit the production, which samples Lords of the Underground’s “Funky Child,” um, which sampled the Thomas Bell Orchestra.

Everyone’s stealing from everyone. I guess French Onion Dip learned from the best.

  1. Haha, I actually googled “feel guilty listening to French Montana”. I never used to like his stuff…But then I heard some his stuff at a party (Don’t panic).

His music are not ‘sentential?’, but he does make some pumped up bangers.
