Flashback Friday: Dipset and Mobb Deep

Playa I woke up this morning and my knees were screaming at me like Patti LaBelle.

Old age is a beast.

I’m going to attempt to ease the pain by revisiting these old hits. Join me.

The Diplomats, Diplomatic Immunity (2003)

Cam’ron’s new track got me all nostalgic for the Dipset’s trademark brand of ignorance. Their 2003 compilation was certainly no lyrical classic but if you shut your brain off, you’ll have lots of fun.

“I’m Ready”

Mobb Deep, Amerikaz Nightmare (2004)

I feel like this album didn’t enough love in ’04. Sure it’s not one of their best releases but it still boasts plenty of strong material. Plus, even when they’re in cruise control, Prodigy and Havoc’s aggression still makes for a solid listen.
