Flashback Friday: Monifah and KeKe Wyatt

It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of TVOne’s R&B Divas reality show.

I’m sure y’all know that. I talk about it in every other column.

This week, we’re dedicating Flashback Friday to two of our favorite Divas.

Javacia must be a fan of wearing boots in the bathtub.

Monifah, Moods…Moments (1996)

Jai said: “I have to thank the show R&B Divas Atlanta for reminding me how much I loved Monifah’s debut release Moods…Moments. This was one of my favorite albums of the 90s.”

Edward reminds us that there’s more to this star than jokes.

KeKe Wyatt, Who Knew (2010)

Edd said: “Before TVOne’s “R&B Divas: ATL,” KeKe was only known as “the girl who sang with Avant” and “the chick who stabbed up her husband.” Now she’s known as “the incredibly goofy woman who can sang her butt off.” That’s a much better designation. KeKe’s 2010 sophomore album flew completely under the radar and that’s too bad. It’s easily her best work. See what you’ve been missing. KeKe ain’t wrapped too tight but she’s a phenomenal talent.”
