Flashback Friday: Britney Spears and Bubba Sparxxx

Finally, we’re at the end of the possibly the longest week in recorded history. I swear Tuesday alone lasted four weeks.

I need some R&R.

I’m not talking about the Ruff Ryders.

Check out these old favorites as we cruise into the weekend.

Longtime Soul In Stereo supporter Eric Danforth admires a pop princess.

Britney Spears, In The Zone (2003)

Eric said: “Yes, I know its Britney. The only pop star to continue to find herself ahead of musical trends, this album is way more than “Toxic.” From reggaeton-infused bangers like “The Hook Up” to confessional ballads like “Everytime,” In The Zone was Britney at her pinnacle. While everybody will always remember “Toxic,” its the underrated, house inspired, Moby produced “Early Mornin'” that is the record’s true gem. And the Ying Yang Twins make an appearance here to get crunk with Britney. Oh, the hilarity.”

Hick-hop? Edward can dig it.

Bubba Sparxxx, Deliverance (2003)

Edd said: “A couple of weeks ago, a friend shared a list of the worst rappers of all time. The first person I saw on that list? Bubba Sparxxx. Playa please, all credibility immediately flew out of the window. Bubba’s sophomore album, Deliverance, is still better than anything released in 2013 so far. Bubba never got enough love for his introspective Southern rhymes and quick wit. Plus, the album featured some of the best production of Timbaland’s career, which is a feat in itself. Worst rapper alive? More like most underrated.”
