The Palestinian death toll from the campaign has topped 300, most of them Hamas militants. Israel says its aim is to stop rockets fired from Gaza. CNN
Sure, we’ve all wanted to shoot the noisy person in front of us at the theater, but we don’t actually do it. On Christmas Day in a Philadelphia movie theater, James Joseph Cialella, 29, got angry that a family in front of him was talking during “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” He told them to be quiet, an argument ensued and Cialella threw popcorn at the son and then shot the father in the arm. Republican National Committee Chairman Mike Duncan has said he was “appalled” by a song called “Barack the Magic Negro” on a CD distributed by Chip Saltsman.
Saltsman sent RNC members the parody CD “We Hate the USA” for Christmas, which includes the controversial tune. He defended his decision Friday, telling CNN the song was clearly intended as a joke.
“I think most people recognize political satire when they see it,” Saltsman told CNN. “I think RNC members understand that.” CNN
What do you think? Is the song a harmless joke or offensive and divisive?
